Hi,
I am quite new in CFD. I have fluent at the moment and am going through the tutorials to get acquaintance to deal with coalescence in gas/liquid flows. I am really confused about if I should start from fluent or cfx. I sometimes see people using, udf, fortran, etc. Will I need these sort things? Can you give me some brief clues. I appreciate your message. thanks |

Fluent 6.3 has good interface capturing schemes and good numerics...will advise to start there. No need of any udf or coding as yet (no mass transfer etc i suppose so far). Using coals related reference - build a model and try repeating calculations or validating experiments..should give you a lot of confidence there...btw, try to keep the model and domain simple and not too complicated. For example, a broken dam problem is a good start !
You can then learn how mesh refinement/time stepping/solver controls etc can change results and you can use this information for more complicated cases. CFdtoy Quote:

Oh, thank you very much, you gave me a great courage. I was reading people's messages and I was little scared of dealing with cfd..
I just need two more help please. First, can you tell me a reference for such works on coals? A broken dam, where can I find it? is it a tutorial? thanks marry |
