hey everyone,
I'm looking at a problem where I need to model an internal combustion cycle. The accuracy of the analysis is not the most important issue at this stage. I will need to obtain a large number of solutions. Can anyone please help me by giving me advice on how long I could expect this to take in different codes (i.e. Star-CD, OpenFOAM, KIVA, AVL FIRE, VECTIS, etc.)? I know this isn't the easiest question to answer because of all the variables, any advice is welcome. For example, with 0.8 million cells in Fluent on 8 nodes it takes approximately 2 days per solution. |
