I have a cfx mesh generated with icem cfd for cfx version 10.0.
Does anybody know if it is convertible with cfxToFoam. I the orignial icem cfd file generated for cfx(extension .cfx5) or the cfx mesh file imported into cfx(extension .gtm). |

cfxToFoam has been written to deal with the .geo file extension for CFX. When I wrote it, the current version of CFX was CFX-4 and the file looks something like this:
wooster*110-> more exampleGeom.geo /* GEOMETRY FILE FOR CFX-4 FROM CFX-MESHBUILD */ 2 4 1 16 54 /* NBLOCK,NPATCH,NGLUE,NELEM,NPOINT */ /* BLOCK NAMES AND SIZE (NI,NJ,NK) */ BLOCK-NUMBER-1 2 2 2 BLOCK-NUMBER-2 2 2 2 /* PATCH TYPE, NAME, NO., RANGE, DIREC, BLK NO, AND LABEL */ BLKBDY GLUE-PATCH----1HIGH-K-BLK---1- 1 1 2 1 2 2 2 3 1 1 BLKBDY GLUE-PATCH----2HIGH-I-BLK---2- 2 2 2 1 2 1 2 1 2 1 INLET AN_INLET 3 1 2 1 2 1 1 6 1 1 OUTLET OUTLET 4 1 1 1 2 1 2 4 2 1 /* BLOCK TO BLOCK GLUEING INFORMATION */ 1 2 3 5 4 1 /* VERTEX CO-ORDS (X,Y,Z) FOR BLOCK 1 */ 0.000000E+00 0.000000E+00 -0.400000E+01 0.200000E+01 0.000000E+00 -0.400000E+01 0.400000E+01 0.000000E+00 -0.400000E+01 etc. I am not aware of the file format changes since then - have a look at your file and see if it makes sense. Enjoy, Hrv

with more command the .gtm file information is not readable.
And I don't know if i can edit it into something like the above .geo file. I am thinking whether it is good way to convert .gtm file first into .ans or star mesh file and then convert to it to Foam file... Now I haven't the CFX-4 version. |
