Hi aevub,
That's only one of several possible solutions. The issue can be one of several:
.You can also try and take a look at the following thread for more ideas: Segmentation error with ParaView Best regards, Bruno

Hi
I started to look in detail to the log file when compiling, and there is an error in Allmake.stage3. Package libccmio-2.6.1 can't be reached (failed to connect to site). Any ideas? Edit: This is for OF16ext. For 2.1x I still get errors when oipening parafoam, but it works for the moment. |

Quick answer: libccmio is not crucial for OpenFOAM to function.
It is in fact necessary to ask permission to cd-Adapco for the usage of this library: http://www.openfoam.org/mantisbt/view.php?id=61

Which installation instructions did you follow?BUT...! I was working on a server with ubuntu 12.04. I think he had problems locating the graphics driver. Normally, mesa should have helped that, but it didn't. I thus installed ubuntu 12.04 client on my laptop, he still didn't see my graphics driver. I then installed 10.04 (I still had that lying around) and upgraded this version to ubuntu 12.10, installed the mesa files.. and as a miracle, ubuntu finally recognized the graphics drivers.. I recompiled the whole lot of OpenFOAM. The paraview 3.13.2 in the thirdparty still does not work, (errror: FATAL ERROR: ParaView reader module libraries do not existwhich I did without result (maybe because I now use 12.10?)) But the paraview package 3.14.1 does work, so I'll be using that one then, without parafoam. So.. Is it possible that there is some kind of bug in the ubuntu 12.04 LTS version? Because I still don't have paraview on my server... |

If I'm not mistaken, Ubuntu 12.04 has got ParaView 3.14.1 in its repositories. Therefore, you try the following steps:
As for VNC, here's a good source of information about it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Virtual_Network_Computing
