The foamLog script will generate xy-files based on the log file generated by the run.

You can also monitor convergence "real time" using the pyFoam package.

There is an old thread which could be helpful (this is the way I monitor residuals):

Tutorial of how to plot residuals !

Hello.

I have the same question, however, when I run FoamLog, the outputs files I get are only for the first time-step of my solution, so they only have 1 x-y entry in each of them. I checked the log file and it has many more timesteps..?

Kind Regards,

Francesco

What do you mean exactly with "at a special time step".

Using the foamLog utility you can plot them in function of the simulated time but I don't know if this is what you want to do...

For example, how can I plot the residuals at t = 5s or so,e other time step?

or lets say, how can I plot the final residuals as a function of time?

I'd personally recommend pyFoamPlotRunner.py/pyFoamPlotWatcher.py from PyFoam, but there is a whole thread that discusses different options:
