Hi everybody,

I have some questions of "newStressedFoam" in OF-1,3-dev. After reading through the codes and noticing some very cool characteristic are added, but there are still some basic points confusing me, could anyone help me understand this?

(1)For the "newStressedFoam",the description of it reads:
"Transient/steady-state segregated finite-volume solver for a solid body.
Solves for the displacement vector field U, also generating the stress tensor field sigma."

As the term "small strain" is not not included, so does it means I can use this one to solve large deformation problems for solid mechanics?

(2)For the head files "setComponentReference.H",I don't quite get why we need to set a reference for componets?

(3)looks like we can use different material for each block?

(4)why introduce rheology to define the mechanical properties? Is the code
" rheology.correct()
rho = rheology.rho();
mu = rheology.mu();
lambda = rheology.lambda();
"
used to update the mechanical properties every iteration?

Kind regards

feng
