Dear Foamers,

I want plot velocity (U mean, fluctuation and U) over time in the case which is solved with pisoFoam.

How can i do this in paraView? when i choose plot global variable over time none of variables are available to select for y direction.

I think the best is to use the sampleDict to extract data over times and write a script to bring all the informations in one file. After that, plotting is easy with gnuplot.

Thanks for your reply,
if i understand your meaning, i should make a sampleDict file in system folder.
but i have run my case now and i want using paraView software. your suggestion seems good but need to run the case again.
is there another way to plot a variable of one point versus time?
Bashar likes this.

You might want to check out pyFoam: http://openfoamwiki.net/index.php/Contrib_PyFoam .

There's one specifically for what you're asking for: http://openfoamwiki.net/index.php/Co...mSamplePlot.py

You can use a sample Dict after a simulation. Juste use "sample" instead of "pisoFoam"

There is a filter called "Plot selection over time"
