Hello,

i am having some problem generating cutted planes in PW. What i want to do: i would like to create a picture that shows me e.g aspect ratio in a special plane of my unstructured block. (just like the picture "Pointwise's award-winning mesh from the 23rd International Meshing Roundtable" from the PW website - http://www.pointwise.com/pw/)

What I did: I cut the block in the examine menu but unfortunately both sides of the block are still visible (I already turned off the view of domains) and there is no "nice crinkle view of the plane".

What could I do to "unview" one of the sides of the block to see only the cut plane in the crinkle mode?

Thanks a lot

Vanessa

Vanessa,

Please post an image of what you're seeing.

Cuts in Pointwise are crinkle cuts by default. You can select a cut that's aligned with the X,Y,Z axes. If you're just interested in looking at cell quality, I simply load up all the blocks, pick my examine metric, and do a slice at several locations with all domains turned off.

BTW, that image you're referring to was taken using EnSight. But a similar image can be taken using Pointwise as well.
