Greetings everyone,
I'm posting because I've been trying to recreate a mesh with these kind of features as shown in the first picture, Meaning Polyheadral mesh with prism layers near the top surface on the side surfaces. But what I can't reproduce is the red areas marked in the picture. Can anyone explain me how I can get those perfect rectangles in the both top surface and "inlet" surface? What happens when I try to do using: Polyheadral mesher Prism Layers Mesher Surface Remesher I get the red marked areas some weird polyheadral meshes or at least triangles, which is not what I want. I need those perfect rectangles on the surface. If anyone could please explain me how to do this, I'd greatly appreciate it EDIT: I should mention that I did the geometry in Pro E, saved it in .stp file, and imported it as surface mesh. Much appreciate it. Last edited by joaorp; February 4, 2010 at 12:52. Reason: Adding more information |

i think u should not use the prism layer meshing option

I've tried not using prism layers, but I won't get the effect I want (meaning the first picture there with the prism layers included).
Is there any program I can use to make once cell thickness meshes? If start ccm doesnt' do it? |

I want this, but with prism layers :O because that is really what I require.

Then use the remesher to get a good surface mesh and prism layer to get this volume mesh

Will it produce the first picture mesh? I mean, one cell thickness? Because I've never achieved that even using the remesher.

The wall layers are prism, this you can change, only when you modify the mesh via custom meshing on the sides (volumetric controls).
Maybe I don't understand what you really want |

I really appreciate your time and help, what I want to do is make a mesh like the first picture (grey one). What I usually end up with is something like the second one. The red part is my main problem. They're not even alike.

I think when you try the mesh setting with a simple sample you will understand what happens.
