i would like to run a flow simulation. it is quite simple.

in coming with 6bar
out coming to 1bar normal atmosphere pressure.
and with water

thats all.

And in 2D.

My question is how can I do 6 or 50 different simulations with different sketch parameters. Are there other ways then using the configs of the model?

Best regard and thanks Sascha

There is an option for parametric studies in SWFS. If you go on "Flow Analysis" in the menu bar and go on "Solve" and there is the point "New Parametric Study...".
A new menu should open up at the bottom of the window and you can either select flow parameters such as varying your pressure or temperature of the water or use dimensions and then you just have to select the dimensions you want. You can specify specific values or a range with increments etc.
The software then creates a matrix of variants based on how many dimensions or flow parameters you selected and the amount of different values, so better don't let it explode or you will have a lot of variants to calculate. Depending on the usual solving time you have to consider each of the variants will take as long as one of the original projects you already tried.

Dear Boris it works. Thank you very much.

how can i view the results for example the cutting with pressure?

Oh, yes. Forgot to tell you that.
The parametric study stores all the results (if not deactivated) in the folder of the original project but you cannot few them directly if you haven't specified the plots before and used them as Output options in the parametric study. If you haven't defined it before you will not be able to see it that easily now. You will have to create a project either from all of the variants or just the ones you are most interested in. If you right-click on the variant in the parametric study you can select "create project" or so (I cannot check at the moment as it is calculating).
It will then extract this variant into a separate project and you can use the usual way to plot things. If you extract all you can also use the "Compare" feature by going to the "Flow Analysis" menu again, then "Results" and here select "Compare...". You can then select the plot or active view and the project you want to see it from and then click on compare and it will take some time to load the projects with results and create the same picture again and again for all the selected projects but it will not work with the parametric study, you have to create the projects out of the parametric study first.

Thank you very much, is it right, that i only can define goals in the parametrics study? Ok there is a new area the goals i have to learn.

i am still testing the parametric study.

No, you have to specify the project in full first as the parametric study will use all the settings of the initial project. So the mesh has to be good already and goals been defined before starting the parametric study. The same goes to any specific plots you want to get out of the parametric study.

Then in the parametric study you can select the output of the results such as certain plots and goals. The goals you specified are used in the convergence control of the simulation anyway but if you don't select the ones you want to see afterwards as a result value in the parametric study, then they won't be available, just like the plots.

So you might specify several goals but only a few are of interest for you in the results, the rest might just be for convergence control. As an example you can specify global goals such as Pressure and Velocity so the pressure and velocity converges globally. You also specify some temperature goals on components and the total pressure at the inlet and outlet and an equation goal for the total pressure loss between those two. But you are only interested in a specific component temperature and the pressure loss, so 2 or 3 out of the 6 or 7 goals you specified. Only those three then are really necessary to add to the output data, the rest still runs in the back and you can see them in the solver monitor but they don't show in the parametric study window. It doesn't have any influence on performance it is just like as if you only want to show them and not all goals which in some calculations can be 20-30 goals for example. But as I said before, you are not able to add them afterwards just like the plots. Only if you create projects out of the variant of the parametric study.

thank you very much, over the chrismas time i have lots of things to do, so i am very sorry for not replying. I will work through it step by step. I will be back with my results or more questions.

Now i ordered my new licence für Flow and i am locking realy forward.
