Assalam Alaykum wa Rahmatullah

We could generate contours of any thing like pressure, velocity or y+ while path lines are the lines traced by the points.

Path lines are the path traced by the fluid particles during flow over bodies and inside the domain of your calculation. Contours gives the constant property lines,i.e., if you take a line in a temperature contour, it will give the same temperature on that line. Like that if you take any contours they will give constant propeties of particular property.
