How could I get partical motion trajectory?

I need to simulate the motion of some partiles in rotating cylinders. Problem Discription: The cylinders was placed horizonly instead of vertically. The space between the inner and outer cylinder was filled with fluid such as water. The cylinders rotate around the axis with same or different angular velocity.
Objectives: 1、The flow field should be obtained. 2、If there are some solid particle(such as spherical structure) is inclued in the system, the particle will rotate with the fluid. How could I get its motion trajectory. Which model should I select, ALE or VOF? 3、The particle may effect the flow field profile if it is large enough. How could I get the critical size(such as diameter) that the particle can be neglected. Thanks a lot. |

1 it is easy to set moving wall boundary. 2 DPM is useful for particle trajectory 3 you should try or calculate the mass fraction of particle good luck
