Pro/E Model Volume Split

Hi,
I'm modelling an engine intake system in GAMBIT 2.3.16: Intake manifold Ports for all cylinders Cylinder 1 including 2 open intake valves I've imported the geometry from a Pro/E .prt file, and have had success with Cooper meshing the ports, and hex core meshing the manifold, but to make life easier in the 'busy area', I'm trying to split the bottom of the cylinder from the valve area, and also the end of port, valve area. The only trouble is, I've tried every trick I can think of for producing the splitting faces, but I always come up against: 'has edges not common with the volume' or 'can't operate on face c_face.x with associated non-real geometry' I've tried using IGES to import, but I come up against these issues when trying to split off the ports, using the curves from the imported geometry to produce the splitting faces! Any ideas out there? Many thanks in advance! |
