The best way to do it is to not use Office, but write them in Latex. If you really really need to user Office, write dem Latex, export them as a pdf or image and then include them in office as a picture!

Greetings to all!
Both OpenOffice and LibreOffice have the Math module: http://www.libreoffice.org/features/math/ It uses a terminology similar to LaTeX, but unfortunately it's not identical Best regards, Bruno

Using LaTeX is like programming a document. It exists way before Wikipedia was invented. Which reminds me: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LaTeX
It gives us the massive power to write beautifully professional documents, without worrying about M$ Word or LibreOffice Writer misplacing our paragraph or fudging the fonts, nor even to worry about fudging the original document files. The only downside is... is that it's like programming. Usually learning how to use LibreOffice Writer or M$ Word is a lot faster and more practical than using LaTeX. But once you get the hang of it, LaTeX is what you'll want to use for the rest of your life. Another issue with installing LaTeX is that it might require to download 1GB or more of data. From what I can figure out, the advised procedure for Ubuntu is to install from the official website of TeX Live: http://www.tug.org/texlive/ @Ehsan: If you were starting you thesis now, I would advise you to start learning LaTeX right away. But since you're not, then now is too late to start learning it. In addition, not all thesis supervisors like LaTeX, since they don't have the time to mess around with it. (Meaning of fudging in this context: to turn our precious work into fudge.)
