Deal all:

I'm having trouble in making scientific sketches for publication of papers. Can any one tell me how to make sketches like this? What software should I turn to? Thanks in advance.

Take a look at Inkscape. Also, if you have the time and experience with LaTeX, the tikz package is an option. However, tikz does have a steeper learning curve.
