First of all, excuse my ignorance...I do not use OpenFOAM, but an online search revealed mapFields...which may be of interest and my next step.
I have a colleague that would like to map some fields from one mesh to another, both representing the same geometry. The first thing I tried to do was get a simple gmsh and tried to convert it using gmshToFoam; here is the command and the error message: $ gmshToFoam m1.msh --> FOAM FATAL ERROR in Foam::findEtcFile() : could not find mandatory file 'controlDict' What's a "controlDict" file? and what should the contents of it be? Thanks in advance for any hints or full sample controlDict file ;-) gsal |

Hi,
controlDict is one of the dictionaries defining case. You can find examples in tutorials. Here is random one: https://github.com/OpenFOAM/OpenFOAM...em/controlDict. |
