hi dear Foamers
I simulated my case as a porous medium with porousSimpleFoam just adding an energy equation to it.
I got the data of U and T. I decided to present entropy generation either.
what should I do for plotting entropy just by T and U data?
Is there any solver for this case or not?

please help me in this case

best regards
Mohsen

Hi Mohsen,

AFAIK, OpenFOAM only provides entropy calculations for simulations that use the thermodynamics modelling part of OpenFOAM.
Here's a thread on this topic: http://www.cfd-online.com/Forums/ope...-openfoam.html

Best regards,
Bruno

Hi Mohsen,

I see that you've begun approaching the possible solution here: http://www.cfd-online.com/Forums/ope...eneration.html

It's essentially what I was going to ask and suggest, namely:
  1. You wrote in your first post that you had added the energy equation to the solver, but you didn't specify how exactly you added said equation.
  2. In other words: if you added a specific energy equation that does not rely on OpenFOAM's thermodynamics, then you have to implement your own entropy equation as well.
I'll try to give some basic help on your other thread.

Best regards,
Bruno
