Hello guys
After long time, here I have come up with another tutorial covering hexa meshing in ICEM CFD. Will help you in understanding of application of ICEM CFD hexa commands. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m0AEh8yXgJ8 |

Dear Far,
I watched all your posted videos, they are really helpful for CFD beginners like me. Can you help me to answer a question? I 'd like to create a hexa periodic mesh for a pump impeller. I have already had a full geometry of impeller domain with 7 blades but I don not know how to divide it into 7 parts to get one. Can you give me some points to obtain periodical domain and which packet should I use? I found that if the impeller is created with BladeGen, it can be easy meshed in periodic with Tubogrid. However, in my case I have full geometry from CAD, it is difficult to obtain periodic domain. I hope to receive the answer from you, thank you so much! |

Solution 1: you need blade editor for doing this job.
Solution 2 (my recommendation): I would suggest you to use blade editor to get turbogrid file and make high quality mesh in turbogrid. Both things should be done in less 2-3 hours. If you have seen my youtube channel you will find one for this purpose as well. |

Dear Far,
Thank you for your suggestion. I know it can generate an impeller with package Vista CPD (centrifugal pump design) in Ansys. However, I afraid that I can not create an impeller exactly same the original one because I lack of several parameters such as Inlet flow angle, hub and shroud blade angle and so on. I only get a CAD file from my partner without any drawings. So can I use any tool in order to divide the full geometry into periodical domain? |
