Day 2 • An introduction of fractional step methods • Coding practice section 2

Day 3 • Body force based immersed boundary method o Direct forcing approach o Volume fraction based approach o Delta function based approach • Coding practice section 3

Day 4 • Sharp interface based approach • Coding practice section 4

About Course Instructor:

Dr. Guangfa Yao graduated from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 1996 with a Ph.D in mechanical engineering, focusing on computational thermal and fluid fields. After graduation, he worked as a research engineer at Georgia Tech and as a CFD developer at Flow Science, Inc., the provider of the commercial CFD package FLOW-3D. Most recently, he spent ten years at GE Aviation as an aircraft engine engineer. At GE Aviation, he was a thermal design model owner of compressor and coupled turbine in F-136 engine and CDN/HPT case in LEAP-X engine. He also led teams in maintaining and developing GE Aviation in-house aero design codes and was the owner and developer of a few of them.
