    The present course offers a wide overview of the state-of-the-art, with applications ranging from microclimate, wind engineering, to mesoscale, meteorology, and their coupling. Reynolds Averaging (RANS) and Large-Eddy (LES) approaches are discussed and their respective capabilities at meso- and microscales are evaluated, with focus on realistic inflow, wall modelling, Uncertainty Quantification and validation.

    The objective of this biannual Lecture Series on Turbulent Combustion is to present the state-of-the-art review of on-going activities in turbulent combustion and to outline current research directions. Introductory lectures on the fundamentals of combustion, and in particular of turbulent combustion, are followed by up-to-date reviews on numerical modeling and experimental diagnostics for gaseous- and liquid-fuel combustion.
