HPC-enabled FLOW-3D v12.0 Released

Posted By: FLOW-3D
Date:Thu, 14 Nov 2019, 10:38 p.m.

Flow Science has released the HPC-enabled FLOW-3D v12.0. The HPC version of FLOW-3D v12.0 can be run on in-house clusters or on the FLOW-3D CLOUD software as a service platform, which provides high performance computing as well as our lowest cost entry-point to use FLOW-3D.

Existing HPC customers and IT admins will benefit from one-time cluster hardware configuration setup, improved support for multiple job schedulers, and a simplified interface for setting up simulation on any compatible HPC platform.

"Our HPC-enabled products in tandem with our cloud platform, which boasts the latest and the greatest hardware allow us to provide our customers the tools they need, when they need them, in order to accelerate their R&D and stay ahead of their competitors. Whether you are running FLOW-3D on a single core or 1000s of CPU cores, FLOW-3D is engineered to take full advantage of the ongoing advancements in hardware," said Flow Science CEO, Amir Isfahani.

FLOW-3D v12.0 marks an important milestone in the design and functionality of the graphical user interface, which simplifies model setup and improves user workflows. A state-of-the-art Immersed Boundary Method brings greater accuracy to FLOW-3D v12.0’s solutions. Featured developments include the Sludge Settling Model, the 2-Fluid 2-Temperature Model, and the Steady State Accelerator, which allows users to model their free surface flows even faster. The HPC-enabled version of FLOW-3D v12.0 allows customers to access these advanced simulation options at an accelerated pace. Performance benchmarks of the HPC-enabled version of FLOW-3D v12.0 are available.

"From running design variations simultaneously to solving fine-resolution, large, and highly-complex design scenarios that take weeks to run on a high-end workstation, our HPC-enabled products get you the answer you need as quickly as possible on your in-house cluster or on our cloud platform," added Amir Isfahani.

A live webinar will provide an overview of high performance computing and FLOW-3D CLOUD with an emphasis on deploying hardware and software resources on demand, such as performance benchmarks for understanding scaling and speed-up on the cloud. The webinar will take place on December 11, 2019 at 1:00 pm EST. Online registration is available.

Flow Science has made this new release available to customers who are currently under maintenance contracts.
