Topic: Computational Fluid Dynamics course will be taught
from basics.
Eligible audience: BE/BTech (Aerospace, Mechanical)(2nd
year, 3rd year and 4th Year)
Outline of the course: MASS, Momentum (Navier-Stokes Eq.)and
Energy conservation law with derivation (Integral and
Differential Form).
Boundary layer flow, Law of the Wall, Relationship between
Largest eddies and Smallest eddies (Dissipative Structures),
Need of Reynolds Averaging of NS eq. Derivation of Various
RANS Turbulence model (Prandtl Mixing-length, Spalart-
Allamaras, K-epsilon, k-omega).
SIMPLE and PISO algorithm for pressure-velocity coupling
(Unsteady case).
Case study on OPEN-Foam : flow over NACA airfoil (Symmetric
and cambered both), flow over backward facing step, pipe-
flow.
Pre-requisite: Basics of Differential and integral vector
calculus.
