The 2023 ASME Worthington Medal for Mechanical Engineering Contributions has been awarded to Professor Mehrdad Zangeneh

Professor Mehrdad Zangeneh Awarded the 2023 ASME Henry R. Worthington Medal for Outstanding Contributions in the Field of Mechanical Engineering.

Advanced Design Technology Ltd. is delighted to announce that our Managing Director, Prof. Mehrdad Zangeneh and Professor of Thermofluids, University College, London, UK, has been selected by the ASME Committee to receive the 2023 ASME Henry R. Worthington Medal at the AJK2023 in Osaka, Japan.

July 12th, 2023 - LONDON (UK), KOBE (JP) The AJK-Fed (Asia Japan Korea Federation Conference) is delighted to announce that Prof. Mehrdad Zangeneh, Professor of Thermofluids at University College London, has been selected as the recipient of the prestigious 2023 ASME Henry R. Worthington Medal. This esteemed recognition is awarded by the ASME Committee (American Society of Mechanical Engineers) in Honors to individuals who have made influential advancements in the field of mechanical engineering.

Prof. Zangeneh has been chosen for influential accomplishments in research and development of advanced numerical design and optimization methodologies for pumps, compressors, and other pumping machinery, and outstanding contributions in design technologies through worldwide industry-academy collaborations and technology transfer activities.

In light of this outstanding achievement, Prof. Zangeneh has graciously accepted the ASME Henry R. Worthington Medal. The official Award Ceremony was held during the AJK2023 conference, taking place in July 2023 in Osaka, Japan. Prof. Zangeneh was presented with the Medal after he delivered a plenary speech on the ’Impact of 3D inverse design and optimization on solving challenging problems in design of rotodynamic pumps’.

ASME Henry R. Worthington Medal Committee The Henry R. Worthington Medal is bestowed for eminent achievement in the field of pumping machinery, systems and concepts. Such achievement may be, for example, in the areas of research, development, design, innovation, management, education or literature.

The award was established by Worthington Pump, Inc. in 1980.
