Webinar: How to design high efficiency volute

Posted By: Advanced Design Technology
Date:Wed, 5 Feb 2014, 10:39 a.m.

Session One: Wednesday 26 February 2014 | 9am (GMT)

Session Two: Wednesday 26 February 2014 | 1pm (EST)

TURBOdesign Volute introduces a novel approach to volute design for compressible and incompressible flows which allows for more practical and faster volute design cycles, eliminating most of the traditional CAD volute design work.

The code allows designers to approach volute design within either a traditional 1D approach, or via a novel 2D approach where the volute area distribution is calculated subject to a specified non-uniform inlet velocity distribution from the impeller. The code allows the designer to specify various cross section shapes and outputs a clean IGES Surface file.

This one hour webinar will demonstrate application of TURBOdesign Volute for performance improvement of a number of turbomachinery design cases including:

* A centrifugal pump;

* A centrifugal compressor stage;

* A radial inflow turbine;

* A sirocco fan stage.

The demonstration will provide detailed flow analysis and performance comparison for volutes designed by TURBOdesign Volute compared to conventional 1D methods.

The webinar will conclude on ease of 3D CAD geometry generation directly from TURBOdesign Volute for immediate meshing in CFD codes.
