The chemical process industry faces many challenges such as the rising costs of raw material and the need to develop processes and innovative products that meet safety regulation and performance demands. In addition, increased patent expiry, diversification and global competition drives the pharmaceutical industry towards continuous manufacturing, e.g. for the API (Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient) process. Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) has been identified as a key enabling technology in finding solutions to many of these challenges.

A CFD specialist will demonstrate:

* How to resolve local flow and heat transfer in stirred vessels and how to optimize the design. * The ease of setting up a particulate flow simulation using discrete element modeling capability to account for contact physics. * How to apply flow-coupled DEM (Discrete Element Model) technology to a tablet coating model in the API process. * How to use recent capabilities to investigate scalars such as coating thickness or moisture in particulate processes.

Join us for an educational morning seminar followed by lunch provided by CD-adapco.
