Open-source release of HOS non-linear wave models

Dear all,

It is a pleasure to announce that non-linear wave models based on High-Order Spectral (HOS) method developed at Ecole Centrale Nantes, LHEEA Lab. (CNRS), since 2000 are now released as open-source (GPL license).

Two different models are available:

- HOS-ocean which allows the deterministic propagation of non-linear wave fields in open ocean with arbitrary constant depth. For documentation, download… see here: https://github.com/LHEEA/HOS-ocean/wiki

- HOS-NWT which is a Numerical Wave Tank dedicated to the deterministic generation and propagation of highly non-linear wave fields in wave basins. For documentation, download… see here: https://github.com/LHEEA/HOS-NWT/wiki

Along with the core of models, post-processing is also delivered. This allows in particular the possibility to easily couple the HOS models with CFD software for wave-structure interactions modeling.

GitHub offers distributed revision control and source code management. You can directly download the code from previous links but feel free to contribute to the codes if you are interested in. Use and developments must comply with the GPL license.

Finally, note that a training for users/developers will be planned during first semester of 2015. It will take place at Ecole Centrale Nantes, France and is expected to last for one day. If you are interested and want more details, please contact us.

Best regards,

F. Bonnefoy, G. Ducrozet, P. Ferrant, D. Le Touzé, Y. Perignon
