Pakistan, October 5, 2015
The department of mathematics COMSATS Institute of
Information Technology Islamabad, Pakistan is organizing a
workshop on “Numerical solutions of partial differential
equation” jointly with the Interdisciplinary
Center for Scientific computing (IWR), University of
Heidelberg Germany on 5th-9th October 2015.
Description:
The Distributed and Unified Numerics Environment (DUNE) is
an open source software framework for the numerical solution
of partial differential equations. This one week workshop
will provide an introduction to the most important DUNE
modules and especially Dune-PDELab. DUNE-PDELab is a
powerful tool developed by Prof. Peter Bastian research
group at IWR for implementing the discretisations of
partial-differential equations. It helps to substantially
reduce the time to implement discretizations and solvers for
PDE’s.
At the end the attendees will have a solid knowledge
of the simulation workflow from mesh generation and
implementation of finite element method to visualization of
the results.
