CFD has so many interesting applications. One of these is the use of Cradle SC/Tetra CFD software, by Professor Tsutomu Takagi at the Kinki University (Japan) Department of Fisheries, to evaluate drag forces on bluefin tuna. These tuna, considered to be the "diamonds of the sea" are able to swim nearly 90 km/h (56 mph) and account for only 2% of tuna catches. As a result, bluefish tuna are traded on the market at the highest rate. A better understanding of bluefish tuna behavior is especially important for a country like Japan where fish are an important part of the country's economic livelihood.
