Dear Colleagues,
The International Symposium on Outfall Systems, ISOS 2016, organized by the IAHR-IWA Joint Committee on Marine Outfall Systems, will be held at the University of Ottawa, Canada in May 2016. For more information, please visit our website at www.outfall2016.ca. The symposium is also co-located with Coastlab2016.
You are welcome to submit your abstract on the conference themes as follows:
· Intake/outfall systems for various industrial applications
· Experimental techniques and laboratory studies
· Computational techniques and numerical models
· Field measurement techniques and case studies
· Methods for estimation of near-field and far-field mixing
· Coastal-zone or river-basin outfall system management
· Environmental impacts of outfalls (assessment and mitigation)
· Numerical methods for depth-averaged simulations of flow and transport
· Mixing of rivers with larger water bodies
· Desalination brines (mixing, environmental impact assessment, and mitigation)
· Environmental regulations for marine and industrial outfalls
· Mixing and transport processes in water bodies
· Monitoring of outfall systems (on-site, remote sensing, modelling, combined)
· Coastal, river and lake water quality
· Monitoring, modelling and minimizing biological impacts
· Tracer studies
· Working with nature and ecosystem in outfalls
· Renewable and sustainable opportunities for outfalls
· Mining discharges
· Oil spills, thermal vents, gas bubble plumes and produced water discharges
· Industrial and municipal discharges: Design, Treatment, Environment
Also, please feel free to forward this announcement to those who may be interested.
Please join us for this symposium in Ottawa, Canada’s beautiful capital.
