FORT WORTH, TX (8 September 2015) - The first international Pointwise Let’s Talk Meshing Workshop is being co-hosted by Pointwise and CFD Beratung at the Höchstleistungsrechenzentrum (HLRS), Universität Stuttgart on Monday, 16 November in Stuttgart, Germany.

The Let’s Talk Meshing Workshop is a one-day meshing event with presentations, demonstrations and discussions of the latest and greatest mesh generation tools.

Attendees will have the opportunity to:
• Learn strategies for using Pointwise's multiblock structured meshing.
• Experience our new T-Rex (anisotropic tetrahedral extrusion) unstructured/hybrid hexahedral meshing.
• Interact with engineers from our technical support staff.
• Discover how to create templates and macros using Glyph scripting.
• Share feedback on our future product plans.

In the morning session, “Strategies for Multiblock Structured Meshing of Turbine Blades,” attendees will be instructed in creating multiblock structured hex meshes and determining which topologies work best for these configurations. The afternoon training session, “Using T-Rex to Generate Unstructured Hexahedra for a Volute,” will explain how to leverage T-Rex to quickly create near-wall layers of unstructured hexahedra. Afterwards, there will be a short course, “Getting Started with Glyph Scripting,” which will help attendees uncover the power of scripting. The day will end with the “Pointwise Product Roadmap,” presentation by Rick Matus, Ph.D., Pointwise’s vice president for sales and marketing.

“This is the first Let’s Talk Meshing workshop we have held outside the U.S.” says Dr. Matus. “I’m looking forward to interacting with European customers as we hold training sessions on advanced Pointwise functionality, give them a preview of new meshing developments we are working on, and hear about their experiences using our software. It should be a busy, but productive and enjoyable, event.”

This event is free and is open to anyone who may want to attend. However, registration is required. Attendees do not need to be current customers to participate.
