The DrivAer Workshop event is focused on the automotive sector and
targeted towards organisations who would like to assess their own tools
and gain access to the DrivAer geometry that has been de-featured for
CFD, access the meshes that have already been generated by CFMS for
this test case in order to validate their own methods and learn more
about the latest techniques and advances for meshing tools
Description:
A new benchmark is now available called DrivAer, produced by
Technische Universitat Munchen. This is a far more complex geometry
than has been considered previously, and is more representative of a
real car. In order to use this test case geometry, work is required before
some of the standard meshing tools can be applied, which has been
undertaken by The Centre for Modelling & Simulation (CFMS) and
partners, and will be made available to
workshop attendees.
The DrivAer Workshop event is focused on the automotive sector and
targeted towards organisations who would like to;
● Assess their own tools and gain access to the DrivAer geometry
that has been de-featured for CFD
● Access the meshes that have already been generated by CFMS for
this test case in order to validate their own methods
● Learn more about the latest techniques and advances for meshing
tools
Taking place on 10th May 2016, workshop attendees will hear about the work that CFMS and partners
have undertaken on the test case, and includes an open invitation to
access the latest test results (post the workshop), including geometry,
meshes and results for comparison. The event will also discuss the
merits of open collaboration and how to progress the industry beyond
the current methodologies to drive best practice forward.
To register for the event, visit the event page on the CFMS web site.
