WEBINAR: How TURBOdesign Suite enables pump designers to meet emission legislation | 9th March

In order to meet emission legislation such as EU’s Ecodesign directive or US’s Energy Conservation Standard for Pumps, pump designers need to optimize the efficiency of the pump over multiple operating points. In this 1 hour free webinar we will show how the different modules available in TURBOdesign Suite, especially the 3D inverse design code TURBOdesign1 and automatic optimization platform TURBOdesign Optima can be used to rapidly design high performance pump stages that meet requirement at multiple operating points.

Abstract:

In both the US and EU, emission regulation legislation is coming into force which requires pump designers to optimize their designs at multiple operating points. With traditional manual, iterative design processes, this is very difficult to do even for experienced designers. Using automatic optimization tools with direct design based processes can provide good solutions if the problem is well understood, but requires vast amounts of design and analysis time and hence is a slow, expensive solution which is not applicable to all cases.

The inverse design process however makes automatic optimization feasible for all companies via two main differences to the direct design approach:

TURBOdesign Suite has been built to enhance these benefits by providing the user with a rapid, easy to learn user interface such that the minimised analysis time from the benefits above is coupled with minimised design time to set up cases.

In this webinar we will firstly introduce why the inverse design process is able to drastically reduce the analysis time required for automatic optimizations, before demonstrating the full setup of a multi-point optimization and the ease with which the user can extract and analyse the final optimized solution.
