Hi everyone I'm trying to simulate flows in a pipe with a irregular cross-section shape (I call it near-semicircular shape, imagine a semicircle with a flat bottom).

The pipe length is more than 50 times the width of channel, but When generating mesh the cells have longer length along the width of pipe but shorter length long the flow (pipe) direction, which is opposite to what I want.

How can I improve this? To increase the cell length along the flow direction and decrease the cell length along the diameter?

Many thanks.

Hi Kapi can you please tell me how to do that? I'm using the Mesh package under Fluent analysis system. I couldn't seem to find where to specify cell size for different direction?

you may want to use mesh separately if you want to provide sizing and other function to re-mesh it.
