Dear all,
I am conducting a magnetostatic analysis with finite element method using ANSYS Multiphysics v12.0. I am aiming to determine the flux density distribution inside a steel pipe. The system is axisymmetric. I am creating the geometry using rectangular areas (BLC5 command) in 2D modeling (or cylindrical volumes in 3D modeling (CYLIND command)). With the same exact model, except one time I glue all areas (or volumes) and another time I don't, I get different solutions! I believe that the gluing operation connects entities that are touching but not sharing any entities, in order to create a common boundary between them, and maintain the distinction between entities that have different material properties. Is AGLUE (or VGLUE) has features other that what I have mentioned? Should it be used in my application? What about the NUMMRG command? What exactly is its function? Should it be used and does it have influence on the final solution? I appreciate any help you could provide. Thank you. Sincerely, Issam Ben Moallem |
