Nice to receive your reply again. I thought you were referring to the "mapped face meshing", which has an option "radial number of deviations"(please see the picture). This option gives smoother transition around corners(please see the picture), which is similar to the mesh I am trying to do (picture 1).

If you have any idea about how to make this kind of mesh in v171, please let me know. Any help appreciated.

Your three pictures show good meshes of different element layouts, are they still giving solution issues?

Hi Stuart,
I just checked my 3 Fluent jobs running on a supercomputer. only the following meshing gave converged iteration.

Another two got diverged. For the divergence of this one,

I think it is because the abrupt mesh transition happened on the corners.

For the divergence of another one,

I have no idea why it happened. I am trying other p-v coupling methods to see if that will give a better result.
