[ANSYS Meshing] Ignoring Overlapped Surface

Hi everyone!!

In the picture attached you can see the forward facing step I'm studying using an structured mesh.

The problem is that I would also want to include a model of the circular balance used in the wind tunnel to measure the forces. (see image)

How can I keep the structure mesh all the way until the step and then afterwards calculate the forces only over the balance??

I've tried to merge the faces in design modeller and use name selection but I can't get the balance to be isolated from the mesh
