kdupont is on a distinguished road
Hello everyone,

I am new user of ICEM. I want to study for my master thesis the way the fluid behaviours with a change of section (shown in geometry.png). The fluid is going through the left side and is divided between two channels.

I have done my 2D geometry on ICEM, shown in geometryicem.png . I am locked since many nights now on the block definition in a way to do the meshing. I have tried to follow the meshing tutorial (and especially the ANSYS ICEM CFD tutorial "Hexa Mesh Generation for a 2D Pipe Junction"). I have tried by many ways to split edges and the blockd to obtain the same number of edges that I have curves, not to cross the internal edges done in the blocks, but I always obtain the same kind of results shown on metrouble.png . The mesh seems to be crossing and the mesh is never coming red.

Is my geometry wrongly created? Is there a simple way to obtain a nice mesh using ICEM regards this geometry?

All you advices and helps will help me going on.

Thank a lot for your time,
Kevin

bluebase will become famous soon enough
Hi Kevin,

can you make some more screen shots of the y bend region? It seems there are some associations wrong; maybe also something with the blocking, but that's not visible in the present screenshots.

I would propose a blocking with the following structure in the y-bend:

with regards,
Sebastian
