Dear All,

I am developing a generalized macro for modeling a RC beam-column element in APDL. The concrete (base) element is modeled using SOLID65 whereas the reinforcing (discrete, it's better than smeared for my case I guess!) element is REINF264 with a EDGO pattern. APDL is not allowing me to orient rebar fibers along multiple directions in a single element, i.e. once I model the transverse rebar, the longitudinal rebar in the same element is oriented in the transverse direction by default (refer the figure). I have tried changing the active coordinate system. Any suggestions?

PS: My hands are tied with an arbitrary mesh size since I am trying to model a general case.

Thanks!
