hi all,
I got a question regarding the cell/node numbering for an hexa mesh in ICEM. Lets say i have a geometry with a simple hexa mesh and three regions or parts in ICEM CFD (see pictures below). So if I change the three parts by merging two parts into one part then it seems like the cell/node numbering is changed although the mesh stays the same. I tried using the renumber mesh tool after merging or splitting the parts but it makes no difference (or I'm using it the wrong way). Using the pictures below I would like to have a cell/node numbering where the bottom left cell has always the same cell number regardless if it's contained in Part C (three regions) or Part B (two regions). Is there a way to maintain the cell numbering in a certain way? Or in a more general way, what's the way ICEM CFD is creating the hexa mesh (by using Pre-Mesh -> Recompute)? Is it done for every single party separately? |
