Dear all,

I want to simulate slinky coil ground heat exchanger by Ansys 17.2. The mesh ground is attached sample. The coil diameter is 1 m and pipe diameter is 43 mm. The mesh far from coil is robust and near coil is fine. I just want to simulate one turn due to computational limitations. However, I find mesh problem in near coil ground. I have tried body influence but it is failed. I want to get as good as attached figure.

Do you have any suggestions?

Thank you
best regards

Teguh

Dear all

I have tried body influence it seems can not work so I divide ground into several parts as interface. Because the size of the coil is small compared to the ground. It makes me easier to mesh. However the problem is overlapping contact region. Do you have any suggestion? Thank you for your help

if you have conformal mesh, then you dont need contacts
remove contacts
