Hello everyone,
I am new to ICEM CFD and I want to create inflation layers on a 2D cylinder surface. I have created an O Grid block around the cylinder, and changed the spacings and ratios in Pre Mesh Params to create smaller cells near the wall, but the results are not satisfactory. I'd like to know if there is a feature in this software to specifically define inflation layers on a surface (by the thickness of the first layer, number of layers, etc.). Unfortunately I couldn't find any simple answers on ICEM CFD help. Any help would be much aprreciated. |

some pictures of your mesh would help. what you described initially is the procedure of setting y+ in blocking approach. This is also known as inflation layer. The first cell height (i.e. spacing 1 or 2 , 1 if your edge is propagating outwards (see direction of the arrow)) should be set to to y+ <=1. You can calculate this spacing on Pointwise Y+ calculator(formerly) now known as Cadence y+ calculator online
