Default Prism layers in sharp corner

Hello ICEM-Users,

currently i am creating an unstructured tetra/prism mesh of a channel geometry whose cross-section features a sharp corner (internal angle of 40°). As a boundary layer resolution is required, I attempted to grow a prism layer from the channel wall. However, in the sharp corner the prisms do not form a clean seam.
I refined the tetra mesh in the corner and explored the effects of the various prism meshing parameters (min prism quality, fillet ratio, max prism angle ...), but the following is the best result I could achieve (Image 1):
Corner_PrismProblem.jpg
I was wondering if there is a way to allow the prism layers to fully "grow together", like they do in the first few layers from the wall in Image 1. To stress what I'd like to achieve with the prism layers in this corner, I created a block structured mesh for the cross-section (Image 2):
Corner_HexMesh.jpg
Since this cross-section is part of a more complex geometry, it's not possible to create a fully structured or hybrid mesh. I would be delighted if someone could point me in the right direction of figuring out this meshing problem.

In case you'd like to give it a try yourself, I attached the simplified geometry file I used for my tests to this post.

Thank you for your time!

Best regards,
Julian

What I would recommend is to start with a thick inflation layer of only 1 element. Then in a second step split it into a large number of layers. Mostly, that works better than growing multiple layers one after the other.

Thank you for your suggestion! I created the initial prism layer with only 1 element and split it into 20 elements afterwards. This improved the prism layer in the corner and fixed my initial problem:

It also decreased the computation time of the entire prism layer noticeably.
There are still some bad quality tetra elements at the top of the prism layer in the corner.

I keep experimenting with mesh parameters and cell sizes, but am happy to receive any further suggestions!
