Hello,

I am very new to star ccm+ and am still familiarizing myself with the program. That being said, I am working on a research project that requires me to simulate waves on different scale models of TLPs. This will be done by creating a virtual wave basin and simulating waves against multiple scaled down versions.

I have tried a few tutorials, but still have a few questions to help me get started:

I have looked at many articles on free surfaces for water, and am still having a hard time getting this to work out correctly.

How to set up a view/animation/scene that allows me to see the waves hitting the structure.

I know this is not extremely descriptive and for that I am sorry. Please feel free to guide me to other threads, forums, articles, and videos. I appreciate any and all help!

Hi Britany, sorry for being a pain but this is a forum for posting freelancing jobs...
you'll get more help from the STAR-CCM+ user forum ;-)

3 free ways to get help on STAR-CCM+:
1/ help menu, for example search for "animation"
2/ Steve forum. ask your professor or CD-adapco support for login details.
there should be a STAR-CCM+ file somewhere on this forum that is set up the way you need it. you can copy the settings from this file.
3/ above mentioned forum https://www.cfd-online.com/Forums/star-ccm/

Suggestion: make sure you learn the basics with the help/tutorials before you dig deeper, otherwise you're going to be stuck at every step.
