AS_Aero is on a distinguished road
Hi All

I am running a URANS computation and I am wondering how can I get the averaged quantity of the variables that is of my interest including the expressions I have used. ? I can only get instantaneous results. But if I want to see the velocity averaged results and plot the contour for some timesteps or average over time, how can I achieve that ?

I found the way using Output Control-->Trn Stats--> Arithmetic Avg--Output variables.-.
But here the available variables are limited and I cant get them for the expressions that I have given.

Kindly help me with this !!

I think you should assign your expressions to some additional variables in Pre. Then I think you can generate some transient statistics on these additional variables.

Would you mind describing the issue a bit further?

Here is what I understood (feel free to correct me).

You have your own expressions, say

LIBRARY:
CEL:
EXPRESSIONS:
MyExpr1 = Velocity u * whatever - something else
END
END
END

Now you would like to see/plot the Transient Average of say MyExpr1. Then, you create an Additional Variable (Insert), say MyExpr1AV

LIBRARY:
ADDITIONAL VARIABLE: MyExpr1AV
Option = Definition
Variable Type = Unspecified
Units = <correct units as you expect out of MyExpr1>
Tensor Type = SCALAR
END
END

So far, so good, correct? Then, you activate/associate the AV to the domain where you want such expression to be valid. Say Domain 1. Then, edit Domain 1, goto Fluid/Solid Models, activate MyExpr1AV, select Algebraic Equation, and set it as

Additional Variable Value = MyExpr1

Apply the panel, and repeat for all domains you want this to propagate to.

Now visit your OutputControl panel, and MyExpr1AV should be listed for transient statistics. I am sure you can continue from here.

Hope I understood your question correctly. Good luck
