Hi,

first of all i want to thank you in advance for your help.

I run a transient simulation with CFX and create 360 .trn files, including the .res at the end.

To evaluate the simulation i want to show the surface streamlines at the blade of the impeller.
To be able to compare the results with experiments, i want to average the surface streamline over all 360 result files.

Is there any possibility to get this in CFD-Post?

The easiest way to do this is to use transient averaging while you run the simulation, then the averaged field would be available in CFD-Post. If you can re-run the simulation this is the best approach.

If you cannot re-run the simulation then I would export the blade surface (File/export) and import into some maths package like matlab or python and do the averaging there. I do not know of a way to do this inside CFD-Post.

I think you can use cfx5post batch mode to extract the data without doing it by hand for each file, see this post and also that one (with the next three).

Another way seems to be to open all files if cfd-post recognizes them as the 'complete history', then you can export it in the gui without coding. This method is described here.
