douglasdth is on a distinguished road
Hello. I'm trying to simulate the airflow of a cetrifugal fan, it's a rotating domain in ANSYS CFX 16.0. I've run several similar models but this time the following warning appeared:

An error has occurred in cfx5solve:
C:\Program Files\ANSYS Inc\v160\CFX\bin\winnt-amd64\ccl2flow.exe was interrupted by signal HUP (1)

Update failed for the Solution component in Fluid Flow (CFX). The solver failed with a non-zero exit code of : 2

Usually the error "non-zero exit code of : 2" refers to the quality of the mesh. But what I'm not understanding is what would be the warning referring to "ccl2flow.exe."

Would anyone have a tip to help me?

I note this post was sent for moderation, and you submitted duplicate posts. I have deleted the duplicate post and approved this post. Sometimes the spam detector gets a bit too excited.

On your question:

* CFX V16 is a very old version, you are quite out of date. You should consider upgrading to the current version.

* You cannot diagnose problems with just the few lines you quote, and CFX error codes are not very useful in general. So please post the full output file of the run which failed.

* I am guessing here, but the "interrupted by signal HUP" suggests that one (or more) of the solver partitions lost contact during the run. This could be all sorts of things like:

** The network went down
** The node with some distributed parallel partitions on it was turned off or had some other thing prevented your simulation from running
** It got into some state where it was unable to respond in time and it gets flagged as a HUP (hangup).
** It can also happen due to some simulation related problems - let's see your output file for those ones.
