Mass Transfer across Wall

Hi There
Has anyone an experience on modeling mass transfer from wall? I'm trying to simulate mass suction on an artery wall, but when I set a source of continuity on wall (just for floating particles in blood domain), the result doesn't really make sense. I appreciate any hint... Thanks alot |

Conceptually it is simple, just a mass source/sink and there you are. So can you explain what is not making sense?

well, This is a Eulerian multiphase problem (Blood+ particles) I set a negative source on mass flux for particles, So I expect to have almost zero mass flow for Blood! But when I calculate the mass flow on wall, CFX-Post reports significant amount of that for Blood... Also I think it doesn't understand the suction via negative flux beacuse in report viewer the mass flow on outlet is larger than inlet, that means there is mass flux INTO the domain!!! thanks again |

Hi Ellen,
I am working on a similar problem. Did you find out how to work with it? I am trying to use interface between arterial lumen and wall defining a flux in boundary condition. However, i am not sure if the particles from the lumen are transferred across the endothelium. Could you help me? Thanks |
