Hi all,
I have a problem with my simulation. It suddenly stops with the typical problem of overflow but in .OUT file there's omething else which says: "A wall has been placed at portion(s) of an OUTLET boundary condition (at 100.0% of the faces, 100.0% of the area) to prevent fluid from flowing into the domain. I don't really understand, I made my solver conditions as robust as possible, playing with the advection scheme and the time step but it does not really helps. Any idea? |

When a solution is diverging (ie the overflow comment) then anything can happen. So flow going backwards is quite possible as the results will be total rubbish.

I know...I've read that in cavitation simulation, transient problems converge more easily than stationary ones. Is it true? May I consider to simulate a short physical time rather than wait for a stationary solution???
Thanks in advance! |

Yes, transient simulations are easier to converge that steady.
But it depends on what you want - if you want the steady state flow you will have to run the transient simulation a long time to get there. |
