Hello, I am newbie in CFD
I am simulating SI engine by Converge, and I have results in cell.vtu file, which
holds only temperature values.
What I want to do is by using be temperature value on the result to track the flame propagation and get speed value from it.
What shall I do?

Hi,

If temperature is the ONLY thing you have, maybe you can track the flame front by looking at some temperature iso-surface, or large temperature gradient, something like that. For the flame speed, you have to have multiple time frames, and calculate the distance moved by the flame front from one frame to another and divide it by the time interval. It is only a rough estimate and would be very tedious.

However, you can save your time at the case-setup stage by dumping the flame speed to the post files. In post.in add the following line:

tur_flamespeed Turbulent flame speed in the cell (m/s).

Or, you can set it up in STUDIO: Case setup > Output / Post processing > Post variable selection > Cells > Combustion / Turbulence > Turbulence Flame Speed.

Hope it helps.
