Evaporation boundary condition at liquid-vapor iterface

Default Evaporation boundary condition at liquid-vapor iterface

Hi,


I am using Fluent to simulate evaporation of liquid into air in a vertical channel. I am trying to follow the below sequence:



1. VOF simulation without enabling energy equation to get a steady meniscus shape of liquid-vapor interface.


2. Now, I want to extract the obtained profile of the meniscus and apply evaporation or convective boundary condition on the meniscus/interface surface (after enabling the energy equation)


My queries:
a) How to extract the profile of the meniscus of liquid-vapor interface?

b) How to apply boundary condition on the meniscus which is fixed at a location?

I have done this way:


a) An iso-value of 0.5 for liquid-phase has resulted in meniscus shape


b) Cells with iso-values for liquid-phase are marked using ''Mark/Adapt Cells'' option- this results in generation of a Register; With this Register face/cell zones are separated using "seperate faces/cells" - this results in formation of new cell zones, on which boundary conditions can be applied.
